Clinical Pilates
What Is Clinical Pilates?
You might be wondering what the difference between Clinical Pilates and regular Pilates is. Regular Pilates is aimed at improving overall fitness, flexibility, strength, and body awareness, with dynamic movements at high intensity relative to the individual; no qualifications are needed to become an instructor.
By comparison, it is required that Clinical Pilates instructors have a Physiotherapy or similar qualified Allied Health background. This is because it is used as part of a treatment plan for chronic pain and post-surgery/birth recovery. But it’s not just for women. Men also enjoy the benefits of Clinical Pilates sessions.
Our physiotherapists at Procure Physio are qualified Clinical Pilates instructors and run both Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates sessions. Our sessions have a strong focus on education, as patients who understand their condition and the mechanics of their body have a much better chance of recovery.
Although not limited to, we recommend Clinical Pilates for the following people:
- Pregnant mothers who aren’t really active or engaging in exercise
- New mums who want to regain their self-confidence and tone their body
- Women (over 40) suffering from chronic pain and are post-menopausal
- Anyone suffering from chronic pain and want a non-invasive, structured rehab program

Exercise doesn't have to be unpleasant or daunting. Exercise can be fun! Procure Physio Clinical Pilates helps manage your chronic pains and regain your confidence in your body!
This is not regular Pilates. Clinical Pilates helps you recover from pain!
